Intended use of device

The stand is used for laser marking of manufactured starters with DataMatrix codes. The basic information about the workpiece such as production date, shift number, reference, serial number are stored within the code.

Functional description

Before marking, each oncoming workpiece is checked for code presence. The workpieces, when introduced into the marking chamber, are indexed, followed by a laser burnout of the DataMatrix code. According to the customer's specification, the data contained within the code may include information such as the production line number, shift number, production date and time, and serial number of the workpiece. When the operation is complete, the workpiece is released from the stand.

Construction of device

Marking chamber

 

The sealed marking chamber in accordance with PN-EN 60825-1:2014-11 allows dangerous laser radiation to be separated from the operator. This makes the stand completely safe for employees (class 1 laser device);

 

Laser marking machine

 

The device, according to customer requirements, uses AREX 20W laser marking machine from Datalogic. The device, due to easy configuration and sufficient power, allows for significant shortening the marker designing process and optimization of marking operation;

 

Fumes extraction

 

The exhaust gas fume extraction after marking is carried out by the built-in control system. It allows extraction and neutralization of dangerous fumes, making the machine environmentally safe. Filter fullness is indicated on the operator panel;

 

Code scanner

 

A SR-2000 code scanner from Keyence was used to detect if a workpiece had been marked before. The high matrix resolution and advanced computing algorithms of the scanner applied are protecting the stand from re-marking the workpieces;

 

Safety

 

According to the risk analysis, effective technical safety measures such as locks and roller end switches were applied on the stand. This solution makes it possible that the device meets high safety requirements in accordance with PN-EN ISO 13849-1;

 

Operator panel

 

The controls elements and 7’’ display allow for selecting the right reference, previewing the process and controlling the individual machine movements. The basic machine condition diagnostics are also possible from the operator panel;

 

Structure

 

The structure made of aluminium profiles is suitable for assembling all modules and electrical and pneumatic fittings.
